They’re in the remote, I swear!

The batteries, that is. Or I would totally take pictures. But, that doesn’t let me off since I just barely put them in there a couple days ago. So, that’s my excuse for now.

I haven’t hardly done any spinning since I came home, except a bit on my spindle. I’m working on my stupid christmas gifts, which this year is the infamous WASHCLOTH! Everybody’s getting one, since I had a stash of cotton in my Potter Hole. I’m up to like 27 or something. Plus, I took some naps.

I have a doc appt on the 3rd for a checkup, because I’m still exhausted. I was hoping after my surgery and stuff that it would have helped with my chronic fatigue, but not so much. I’m going to bring up the fact that I’m positive I have sleep apnea, and that could be a reason. I’ve wondered if I’m going thru depression again or something, but I’m not really sure. The last time when it was super bad, I was ridden with anxiety and HUGE mood swings. I have some anxiety now, mostly because I’m worried about money things (like Christmas and stuff). But for the most part, I think I’m tolerating it rather well, rofl. I’m not compulsively making lists, which is my big “warning sign”, lol.

Anyway, I’m also going to ask about going on Chantix(sp?) to quit smoking :) I found out that Medicaid covers that now, so I want to get it! The Boy has an appointment that day also for a general checkup. Since we were without insurance for so long, neither one of us had regular checkups for YEARS. Of course, I had all my girlie crap done because of my ‘issue’, but other than that, haven’t been.

I did give a small spinning lesson to my friend IrishDiva (Rav) from my SNB. She has been learning to spin on a kick spindle and wants to learn on a wheel. I’m a horrible teacher, so I have to work on that. I did that last Saturday evening, and this last Tuesday I brought my wheel to SNB so she could play with it. I told her I’d bring it every week if she wants and she can mess around until it “clicks” :) Then she’ll be my spinning wheel buddy!

Back to my washcloth pile. It’s never going to end.

    Home & Exhausted!

My plane landed around 9:30pm last night, and I’ve been beat every since! Somebody at SOAR was spreading Teh Cooties, and thankfully ***knockonwood*** I haven’t gotten it yet. I thought I was coming down with it, but I’m pretty sure that the way I was feeling was because I had wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much to drink on Saturday night, and in turn, spent a lot of time outside smoking (with no shoes on, rofl)

Amy (ToadyJoe) was there less than a day and managed to come back with it. At least somebody got a door prize, bwahahaha ;) It was no wonder though, with all the driving she had to do. She was SO kind to me, when she didn’t have to be. Shuffling me across half a state just to drop me off, then back again. And feeding me even! And a few other things both of us have agreed not to mention, lol.

I did have a most excellent time, even though my last day was moderately shitty and I’m nearly 150% positive I made a drunk ass out of myself. That part of me is hiding in shame.

I didn’t do any knitting (though, I did frog a sock), and the only spinning I really accomplished was in my 3-day workshop class with Maggie Cassie. I did learn TONS though, with all 5 of my classes, and as I come to work on them myself, I will share what I learned (unless of course you’re smarter than me and already know, lol).

I managed to spend all of my $90 at the market on Thursday, where I picked up a small .7oz Tom Forrester spindle (the only thing I wanted), and a bit of fiber. I picked up 3oz of 50silk/50merino from Blue Moon Fiber Arts (in the Valkyrie colorway), along with some firestar in the Jabberwocky colorway. I also got another color of firestar, but I will admit that when I got both of them, I juts thought that they were small hanks of fiber - not blenders. *blushes* Monday morning while I hung at Amy’s before my flight left, she was kind enough to lend me her drum carder so I blended the Jabberwocky with the fiber and made it a pretty dark sparkly.

I also picked up 8oz of 80suri/20romney(???) from another booth, but I am too lazy to see who that was.

And I’m going to enable here - A Verb For Keeping Warm - OMG, Kristine & Adrienne are the NICEST people!! We had a little contest on Thursday night and Kristine was nice enough to offer me use of a Matchless from their booth - but, it was a little too late since the contest was about to start (which I lost miserably, rofl). Anyway, their fiber & yarn colors are naturally dyed and they are GORGEOUS!!! I told them I was starting a Verb Jar so that I can save to buy more things from them. Since I was on a limited budget though, I just picked up some natural colored alpaca & silk (80/20) that’s a dark charcoal grey and just lucious! My dad is totally getting something made out of that, I’m sure. Or, I just might make myself something from it, lol.

My retreat classes were with Maggie, Abby, Amy, & Deb and I learned SO MUCH in all of them! They are all really so very down to earth and very tolerant of Teh Erin. And it takes a LOT to tolerate me in medium to large doses (I’m a very obnoxious person, if you haven’t gathered that, lol).

The downer to my week, was my sick roomie. My other roomie, Myra, and I both thought that she had The SOAR Crud that was being passed around, but it turned out otherwise. On Saturday morning we had to steal her cell phone to try and get ahold of her DH who she refused to call (She’s in her mid-late 70’s and was refusing help of any kind from us). We got him, and then called 911 and had her taken to the hospital. Turns out that she didn’t have the Crud. She had had a heart attack :( Symptoms in women are similar, which I’d heard, but….I felt HORRID!!! Her DH & step-daughter drove in later that afternoon and gave us an update which was less than stellar. She was on a heart pump, which meant that she only had 15% of her heart function left, and they didn’t think she’d leave the hospital. But Sunday morning, she actually felt well enough to call and thank us for calling an ambulance. I haven’t had any updates since then, so I have no idea how she’s doing now. I was so torn up on Saturday, and I think that was part of the reason I got hammered. (btw, I RARELY drink, like maybe 3 beers a year….so after this week the next workshop I need is AA!)

Anyway, I think it’s going to take me a while to recover. Back to work tomorrow and back to yell at Boss Man for f*cking up my schedule while I was gone. He’s going to have a size 9 shoved up his, for sure!
